Lorenz.OG’s Hand-Dyed Gradient New Balance New Balance Sneaker May Only Be Available in One City

Lorenzo Federici, the specialist in gradient dye jobs known by Lorenz.OG, is bringing his talents to a New Balance sneaker for the first time.

The Lorenz.OG x New Balance 860v2 “Dusk” was revealed in full Monday after a period of teasing on social media. Continuing in his penchant for what he calls “Patented Colorschemes,” the British creative applied a striking gradient to the mesh base that starts with purple and the heel and processes to pink, orange and yellow on the right shoe. The left shoe then reverses the treatment, and the two shoes are then unified by on-trend metallic silver overlays.

Lorenz.OG has given bespoke designs to some of the most influential people in streetwear and sneakers, including Virgil Abloh and Lil Yachty, and has occasionally made his hand-dyed sneakers available for public consumption. The nature of his process thus far has kept the releases extremely limited, as no collaboration has taken the work out of his hands and into a factory for replication. His Salomon ACS+ was limited to an activation in Paris, and his Nike Air Max 95s were similarly withheld to London only.

The 860v2 is a heavy hitter for New Balance, both on its own since its debut in 2011 as a cutting edge runner and for its sole unit being adopted by the 2002R and 1906R.

Precise details on the release of the Lorenz.OG x New Balance 860v2 “Dusk” have been held close to the chest of those involved, but the date of January 18 that has been divulged points strongly toward a pop-up event in London with Jason Markk. Some have speculated that a wider online release will follow, but that would mean a change in the script that has yet to happen for Lorenz.OG’s sneakers.
