'Lord Of The Rings' cast recreate iconic scene in get-together teaser

The cast of Lord of the Rings are back together, and transporting themselves back to the days of hairy feet and second breakfasts.

Elijah Wood (Frodo), Sean Astin (Samwise Gamgee), Billy Boyd (Peregrin Took) and Dominic Monaghan (Meriadoc Brandybuck) all got together on Zoom, only to be joined by veteran thesp Sir Ian McKellen (Gandalf the Grey).

Soon enough, Wood is quoting from the iconic movie, The Fellowship of the Ring, the first of the trilogy.

“I wish the ring had never come to me, I wish none of this had happened,” he says.

“So do all who live to see such times but that is not for them to decide, all you have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to you,” replies McKellen, in his very best Gandalf.

The get-together is another orchestrated by actor and comedian Josh Gad, who has been bringing together iconic movie casts in his online lockdown series Reunited Apart.

So far Gad has done The Goonies, Splash and Back To The Future, with some pretty stunning names getting involved (from Steven Spielberg to Tom Hanks), raising money for coronavirus support charities as he goes.

The Lord of the Rings reunion will happen this Sunday, with a host of other A-listers joining the chat.

Among them will be Orlando Bloom (Legolas), Sean Bean (Boromir), Liv Tyler (Arwen), John Rhys-Davies (Gimli) and Viggo Mortensen (Aragorn).

Director of the epic trilogy Peter Jackson will also be on board.

You can check it out on Gad's YouTube channel from 5pm UK time.
