A Look at Kate Cate’s Rocking Capsule for Pets

MILAN — Kate Cate, the hip accessories brand founded by Italian model and globetrotter Caterina Ravaglia, has joined forces with luxury petwear label Poldo Dog Couture on a dedicated capsule collection.

In sync with Kate Cate’s attention to eco practices, the range includes three collar styles and matching leashes crafted in leather derived from the byproducts of the meat industry and available in classic black and brown shades, the result of a vegetable-based tanning process.

Coming in three sizes intended to adapt to the needs of different breeds, the styles mirror the rock aesthetic of Ravaglia’s brand, which started with a single focus on belts favored by a plethora of “It” girls before expanding into footwear earlier this year. Hence collars and leashes are adorned with brass buckles, heart-shaped metallic details and star motifs.

Priced between 120 euros and 190 euros, the pieces launched at both labels’ online stores. As part of the collaboration, a portion of profits will be donated to the Calvenzano dog shelter, located a 45-minute drive from Milan.

To further amplify the charitable bent, an advertising campaign photographed by Viktor Vauthier features dogs from the shelter accessorized with the collection and presents them as potential loyal companions to adopt. A QR code appearing on the images directs the audience to discover more about the facility, encouraging donations and support to the volunteers of the shelter.

This is not the first fashion tie-up for Poldo Dog Couture, which previously unveiled capsule collections with the likes of Missoni, Alanui, Fay and Dsquared2, in addition to being a longtime partner of Moncler and having presented collections as part of the Moncler Genius format.

As for Kate Cate, in addition to its signature belt offering — seen on personalities such as Anne Hathaway, Gigi and Bella Hadid, Toni Garrn and Bianca Balti, to name a few — the brand is gradually boosting its shoe category. During Milan Fashion Week in September, it presented new styles of its chunky combat boots and debuted ballet flats with metallic finishes. These added to previously released cowboy style boots and a feminine sandal embellished with an eye-catching crystal mesh concealing its heel, which quickly garnered the attention of international buyers earlier this year.
