Lola’s Cafe opens second outlet at Holland Village with aesthetic wooden tones

Lola’s Cafe first started in Kovan, opening their doors in 2013. Recently, on 20 July 2022, they opened their second outlet at Holland Village. The menu at both outlets are slightly different, with the Holland Village outlet offering exclusively new dishes, such as pasta!

Lola’s Cafe gained prominence with their delicious cafe food and good ambience, so it wasn’t a surprise that its second outlet, which is located within a two-storey building, is tastefully decorated with wooden tones and has a minimalistic vibe. Dashes of plants are sprinkled all over the cafe, bringing nature indoors.

Grilled Kurobuta Pork Collar (S$23) is one of Lola’s Cafe Dinner Menu items. As the name suggests, tender kurobuta pork collar is grilled to perfection with some char around the edges. It’s served with celeriac mash, pickled pomegranate, and fried kale. Bacon jus is poured over the plate, drenching the meat in a delicious savoury sauce.

Bacon Carbonara (S$18) is your typical pasta with a twist— there is wine in this dish! Handmade fettuccine is topped with smoked bacon, parmesan and a sous vide egg that is egg-cellent.

Spicy Crab Rigatoni (S$20) is a tomato-based pasta that contains blue swimmer crab meat, garlic crumbs, parmesan, chilli, wine and cream. It has a delicious blend of savoury and sweet flavours, with the spice and wine cutting through the cream and giving a tangy kick to the dish. One can also add Prawn 3 Pcs (S$6) to have a stronger seafood flavour.

Lola’s Cafe is also known for their finger food, and a must-try is the Bacon & Cheese Croquettes (S$10), which is only available at the Holland Village outlet. Bits of bacon and cheese are added to mashed potatoes, before they are shaped into little balls and fried till golden brown. They are then topped with housemade smoked ketchup, giving a sweet touch to a savoury snack.

Looking at all these delicious dishes, I will definitely be heading down soon for brunch!
