How Lizzo, Mindy Kaling, and more celebs are celebrating Memorial Day weekend in quarantine

What does a long weekend look like in quarantine? For us, it’s a whole lot of sleeping, snacking, online shopping, and repeat—basically the same as any other weekend, but longer. With social-distancing measures in place and restrictions on traveling, most everyone’s Memorial Day weekend plans have been canceled, or, at least, altered. So, many of us have just been sticking it out and finding ways to keep busy at home. That includes celebrities, too. Though things may look a bit different from their vantage points, many celebs are seemingly more “just like us” than ever before. They’re spending time with family, making bold quarantine hair transformations, doing TikToks, and yes, doing plenty of napping and snacking as well.

If you’re bored with the inside of your home and the seat of your couch, take a virtual vacation to see how different celebs have been spending this long weekend at home. Check out our favorite celebrity Memorial Day weekend posts below.

Lizzo is twerking.

Lizzo gave us an inspirational pep talk on Instagram yesterday: “Go look in the mirror. That body *is* your summer body. Now twerk w me ho!” Doctor’s orders.

Dwayne Wade and daughter Zaya dyed their hair.

The cutest father-daughter duo just got even more precious. On Sunday, Gabrielle Union’s husband, Dwayne Wade, revealed a new red hair color coordinating with daughter Zaya’s fresh hot-pink hair—and they both seem to be loving their new looks.

Reese Witherspoon took on the laughing challenge.

Reese Witherspoon took on Goldie Hawn’s laughing challenge (which is exactly what it sounds like: a challenge to laugh). To get in good spirits, Witherspoon and her younger son fed their dogs some peanut butter and shared some laughs. “Laughter really is the best medicine, y’all! And maybe so is peanut butter?” she wrote.

Priyanka Chopra is keeping it real.

Priyanka Chopra shared a photo of her serving a look in a plunging dusty rose-colored swimsuit (the “expectations”) and another photo of her laying in the sun, arms crossed, with a sweater over her face (the “reality”). Honestly, both situations look great to us.

Hilary Duff got her family photos taken.

There are a lot of things we’re not getting done in 2020, but Hilary Duff made sure to check “family photos” off the list. She shared that L.A. photographer Ali Goldstein, who worked on set of the Lizzie McGuire reboot, came to her home to take socially distanced family photos for Duff. “Was nice to have an excuse to get dressed up and Banks says an extra thanks for the 19 lollipops as bribery,” she wrote.

Mindy Kaling is eating chocolate in bed.

“Is anyone else at the place in quarantine where you’re just eating chocolate in bed?” Mindy Kaling wrote on Instagram on Sunday. Yes, Mindy, thank you for seeing us.

Chrissy Teigen is “leaking” John Legend’s album.

What do you do when you get bored in quarantine? Leak your Grammy award-winning husband’s album, of course. “Currently leaking John’s album on my stories. out June 19th. or free when I get mad enough,” Chrissy Teigen wrote with a post in which she played one of John Legend’s songs in the background. On her Story, she’s playing even more of his music while lounging by the pool.

Laura Dern is having socially distanced family time.

Laura Dern spent some backyard time with family this weekend, makeshift masks and all. “Social distanced family time is easy when your dad looks just like he has in every western I grew up watching him in!” she wrote.
