Lizzo is nominated for not one, not two, but SIX Emmy Awards for her series Watch Out for the Big Grrrls—including Outstanding Competition Program, as well as awards in editing, directing, cinematography, casting, and sound mixing. And actually, Watch Out for the Big Grrrls already won Outstanding Picture Editing for a Structured Reality or Competition Program and Outstanding Directing for a Reality Program.
As Lizzo put it on Insta while reacting to the news, “WATCH OUT FOR THE BIG GRRRLS IS EMMY NOMINATED🥹my grrrls🥹 we didn’t do this for awards, we did this for ourselves. Lizzo also went live to chat about being nominated when the Emmys dropped their noms, saying, per NME, “I am so excited to share with you guys that Watch Out for the Big Grrrls is Emmy-nominated. And not just one nomination, bitch—six nominations! Emmys! Do you know what the Emmys are?! Nicole Kidman’s gonna be there, bitch! Probably! Nicole Kidman might be there.”
She also congratulated the cast, saying, “Everyone deserves it. [I’ll be there] with bells on. I ain’t ever been to the Emmys before, bitch! It’s about to be lit over there. Not me at the Emmys—the Emmys can’t handle me right now!”
