Liu Yuning says producers use him to test the waters
26 Dec - Liu Yuning recently revealed that he has actually been the target of cheap promotional tactics by certain companies for some time now.
In a recent live stream with fans, the actor was asked about an online rumour that he has signed a contract to star in a new drama, to which he responded on the spot, "Don't listen to nonsense."
Liu then criticised the current promotion strategies of some companies, saying that sometimes these companies have already an actor in mind but unsure whether the person will be good or not for their drama series.
He said that these companies will then "make a slip" that "Liu Yuning will be starring in the drama", causing his haters to have a field day blasting him and questioning the companies as to why he has been cast.
After one or two days, just as Liu continues getting pommelled online, the company will then come out to clarify that it was another actor and not Liu himself.
"They just took advantage of me first," he said. "And then they look down on me after they spurned me. I think this is the most unbearable thing. They spurned me and scolded me for a long time, and then when the person they chose next is not as good as me, they still look down on me. It is very inexplicable."
He said the situation cannot be resolved unless he leaves this industry.
