Lindsay Lohan welcomes child with husband Bader Shammas

Lindsay Lohan and Bader Shammas have welcomed their first child, with the actress giving birth to a baby boy.

As reported by E! Online, the pair welcomed the birth of Luai in Dubai, where they now reside. A representative for the couple said that “the family is over the moon in love”.

Lohan, best known for her role in Mean Girls, confirmed last year that she had secretly married Shammas, writing at the time: “I am the luckiest woman in the world. You found me and knew that I wanted to find happiness and grace, all at the same time.”

The couple announced in March that they were expecting their first child, with the actress writing that they were “excited and blessed” by the news.

Ahead of the due date, Lohan revealed that she asked Freaky Friday co-star Jamie Lee Curtis for some advice on being a parent, with the star reportedly saying: “You just bring the baby with you and everything will be fine.”

Whilst her career will likely slow down for a while, Lohan did reveal that she pitched a nod to Mean Girls in the Netflix festive film, Falling for Christmas. The film, which was released last year, saw Lohan cover ‘Jingle Bell Rock’, like in the 2004 cult classic.

“It was my brilliant idea to bring it up in a conversation with [Janeen Damian, director] and the producers,” she revealed. “I was like, 'Oh, wouldn't it be fun if we did a blooper reel at the end and we all kind of did the Christmas scene from the talent show in Mean Girls?

“That was the first idea. Then I was like, 'Let's not actually do that,' and then they said, 'Oh, what about the song?’ I shouldn't have said it because it went straight to, 'Oh, let's recreate the Mean Girls talent show scene.' I was like, 'Oh, no, no, you can't touch Mean Girls! Sorry, you can't do that,'” she added.
