Lin Gengxin dismisses marital status leaked online
21 Aug – Chinese actor Lin Gengxin (also known as Kenny Lin) has recently denied rumours that he is a married man.
As reported on Yangtse, rumours of a secret marriage sparked recently, when a netizen claiming to be a roommate of a hospital staff shared the actor's private medical record online and expressed surprise that Lin's status was checked as "married" - despite the fact that he is known to be single.
While others began to express doubt over the authenticity of the record, many pointed out that everything else stated in it matched the actor's personal details.
Following the latest rumours, Lin took to social media and confirmed that the record belongs to him. However, he also blasted the netizen for disclosing people's personal documents.
His studio also released a statement to address the issue, saying that Lin is unmarried and that the said status was filled in incorrectly by a hospital staff, which was then illegally leaked to the public.
"The studio would like to warn the media and network users not to believe the misinformation and to stop forwarding false information. We have entrusted our lawyer to handle relevant matters," it added.
