Lin Chi-ling and husband dropped from CCTV's mid-autumn festival?

3 Sep – Rumours are rife that Lin Chi-ling and husband Akira may not be making their appearance at CCTV's Mid-Autumn Festival event after all.

As reported on Mingpao, rumours are rife that some mainland netizens were not welcoming the news of the couple's appearance at the event, due to Akira's nationality as a Japanese man.

Some commented that people should never forget history and how the Japanese have humiliated China in the past.

"We should oppose a Japanese participating in our mid-autumn festival gala," said one netizen.

The organiser has reportedly dropped the Taiwanese actress and her husband from the event following these complaints.

The event was originally to be the couple's first event together, following their surprise marriage in June this year.

Both Lin and Akira have yet to respond to the rumours.
