Chopova Lowena Just Launched Shoes, and I Must Have Them

From the very first Chopova Lowena pleated, carabiner-held-up skirt I saw, I was immediately sucked into the brand's world. Its cool, punky-yet-practical pieces suited the needs of my style. but also my day-to-day life. I could adjust the skirt's hemline and waist size as needed, and wear the various cartoon-adorned T-shirts for just about every occasion. And all of the brand's pieces I've tried have also been surprisingly comfortable.

So when I saw Chopova Lowena released its first original shoe, there was no doubt in my mind that it would offer the same levels of functionality as the brand's other categories do, instantly making it a necessary addition to my wardrobe.

At first glance, the design is that of a classic Mary Jane — a black patent-leather, round-toed shoe with an adjustable strap that locks into a horse-shaped buckle at its side. Different from your average MJ, however, is the sneaker-like, ridged sole and bungee laces. The shoe also features bright neon stitching all over (in your choice of green or pink) and dangling silver charms in the shape of one of the brand's signature caricatures.

Finding a shoe that is both aesthetically pleasing and capable of running around the streets of New York — thanks to its realistic, life-ready tread and double-fastening — is a rare feat, but leave it to Chopova Lowena to pull it off.
