Li Chen denies weight loss due to tax scandal stress
17 Oct – Chinese actor Li Chen has recently denied that his apparent weight loss has to do with the tax scandal faced by fiancée, Fan Bingbing.
As reported on Epoch Times, Chinese actress Yang Caiyu recently posted a group photo on social media of her and her co-stars of the upcoming drama, "Seven Days", which include the said actor.
Netizens quickly noticed that Li, who was standing next to the actress, looked haggard and much thinner than he was, before the tax evasion scandal made headlines. Many speculated that the scandal befallen his fiancée might have affected him more than anybody thought.
However, Li had since dismissed the speculations, saying that he purposely slimmed down for the sake of the role and the plot.
It is noted that in a previous interview back in May, the actor told the media that he will be losing some weight for a new project, although he didn't relay any details about it.
Li has been by Fan's side since her tax scandal was first reported, being absent from his own social media account when the news first hit. He also reemerged on Weibo following Fan's apology, saying that he will face the hardship with the actress together.
