Li Chen denies being the son of a billionaire
22 Oct - Li Chen has denied rumours saying that he is actually an heir to a billion-dollar fortune.
As reported on China Entertainment, previously, tabloid claimed that the actor, who is now dating actress Fan Bingbing, comes from a family that has assets worth RMB10 billion (approximately USD1.4 billion).
It is alleged that the Li family owns properties in Beijing, Shanghai and Dubai, as well as a collection of luxury cars, although no explanation has been given as to where the money comes from.
The rumours came after it was reported that Fan makes more money than Li at USD16.8 million, making her the fifth highest paid female actress of the year, according to Forbes.
However, the actor's studio recently dismissed the rumours in a statement released on 18 October.
Stressing that all the reports were bogus, the studio urged the relevant media for an immediate cessation of the rumours, and for the public not to be gullible as to believe in such fabricated reports.
