Leonard Paris Fall 2024 Ready-to-Wear: Ripe for Reprise
The ‘60s are having a bit of a revival, and Georg Lux has access to an overflowing archive from the period. The Leonard designer took his jet-set clientele on a trip to South America this season, inspired by vintage prints and the embossed architecture of the Maya.
Geometric motifs were worked on jersey and silk in mixed brights or shades of brown and orange evocative of the era, offered in a multitude of wardrobe options including flared pants and blouses, high-necked, mid-length dresses, flowing caftans, blousy dresses and party-ready jumpsuits.

Leonard’s staple florals referenced the cactus flower in a similar variety of styles, with the addition of a padded coat with a magnified motif in pastel hues for a 21st-century take. In a more understated register, the silhouettes were worked in embossed black velvet.
There were plenty of statement outerwear pieces for lovers of a Leonard total look for winter, including cozy-looking layered blanket coats and capes in beige with accents of red and black. Jacquard pieces with shiny metallic threads were inspired by a feather motif from the archives, echoing the geometry of some of the prints in a more flamboyant register. Chunky tweeds, meanwhile, were worked with a giant version of the brand’s monogram in beige and brown.
The strongest pieces in the lineup included black wool coats embellished with graphic burgundy satin thread embroideries. Blouses worn over his dresses like pairs of balloon sleeves that dramatically crossed the body to attach on the opposite shoulder also merit a mention.
