Leon Lai awarded the Silver Bauhinia Star

12 Nov – Hong Kong Cantopop King Leon Lai was recently awarded the Silver Bauhinia Star by the Hong Kong government for his contribution to charity work.

As reported on Mingpao, the singer, who arrived at the Hong Kong's Government House to accept his medal of honour, said through his manager that it was fated that he was able to participate in charitable activities and help people in need.

"Thank you for giving me this opportunity. I am grateful," he added.

Leon has always been committed to promoting charity work, having been actively involved with the non-profit organization, The Community Chest of Hong Kong, for 25 years.

This also marks the third time that Leon is being awarded by the HKSAR government.
