Leah Remini to Guest Host ‘Wendy Williams Show’

“The Wendy Williams Show” announced its first batch of guest hosts for its new season that debuts Monday, while Williams remains out from ongoing medical issues.

Leah Remini will host the majority of next week — Tuesday through Friday — while Monday’s premiere will be led by a panel including Devyn Simone, Bevy Smith, Elizabeth Wagmeister and Michael Yo.

The new season of “The Wendy Williams Show” debuts Monday.

On Wednesday, the show announced that Williams would remain on her medical hiatus and that the show would tap a rotating list of guest hosts in her absence.

“Wendy continues to be under medical supervision and meets with her medical team on a daily basis,” the show said in a statement. “She is making progress but is experiencing serious complications as a direct result of Graves’ Disease and her thyroid condition. It has been determined that more time is needed before she is able to return to her live hosting duties.”

“The Wendy Williams Show” has been delayed multiple times, first due to a breakthrough case of COVID-19 (Williams is fully vaccinated), and then later to other, unnamed medical issues.

Williams has been “dealing with ongoing health issues” that prevented her from participating in promotional activities for the new season of her daytime talk show, though no further details had been shared publicly. In the past, the host has taken several breaks from the show, citing complications with Graves disease and a battle with addiction.

Williams returned to her New York studio last year, with a fully vaccinated audience coming back in June.
