Leah Dou says mum loves to rain on her parade

14 Dec – While she rarely spoke about her mother, singer-songwriter Leah Dou recently shared a little titbit about her relationship with songstress Faye Wong in a clip promoting her new album.

The singer-songwriter, who held an online concert on 12 December to promote the new album "GSG Mixtape", also launched her own private documentary in which she talks about her music journey and other topics, including her award-winning singer mother.

Said Leah, when she was a child who just wanted to share happy things with her mother, Faye would always say to her, "Don't be happy for too long. Nothing is permanent."

"I thought you were very annoying. Why do you keep pouring cold water on me? But that sentence has been circling in the back of my mind... At first I thought it was very pessimistic, but in fact it was not," she said.

Leah stated that as she grew older and met all kinds of people and experienced a lot of things, she finally understood what Faye meant.

"It became a seed, something to protect me. Slowly, I began to understand her more," she added.

She also revealed that she liked the sunset very much, saying that the best memories are like sunsets, adding, "When you watch the sunset, it's like looking at the best feelings in your heart."
