Law Kar Ying wants a Hong Kong movie with Stephen Chow

6 Feb - Hong Kong veteran star Law Kar Ying recently expressed his desire to work again with Stephen Chow in a Hong Kong movie like they used to in the past.

As reported on Oriental Daily, the actor talked to the media about his reunion with the box office director, after they recently worked together in providing the Cantonese voice-over for the comedy auteur's new movie, "Journey to the West: The Demons Strike Back".

Speaking about their reunion, Law stated that Stephen did ask him to work with him again, but that they weren't able to do so as both of them are already too busy with their own respective schedules.

"I believe if we're fated to work together, destiny will bring us back together again," he said.

Law and Stephen previously worked together in various movies before the funnyman turned his focus to the mainland. Among their collaborative works include "From Beijing With Love", "A Chinese Odyssey", "God of Cookery", "Forbidden City Cop", and "Lawyer, Lawyer".

Law also stated that he hopes that Stephen would one day return with a movie that stars Hong Kong actors.

"Hong Kong director has a better chemistry with Hong Kong actors, and the movie will be more entertaining rather than with mainland actors. The same thing can be said about mainland directors," he said.
