Lauren Young responds to bashers over "victim-blaming"

22 Feb – Lauren Young recently went on a full defense mode after netizens accused her of alleging Janella Salvador of lying about Elmo Magalona's physical abuse.

As reported on PEP, the situation sparked earlier this week, when Young, who was asked about Salvador's accusations against her ex-boyfriend Magalona, stated that she knew the actor very differently.

Although she refused to elaborate more about the subject, Young ended her interview by saying, "I think someone is lying. I don't know... Sometimes, some people bend the truth, some people... Sucks if it's true, sucks if it's not true. Then someone is a liar. But for me, it's none of my business."

Now, netizens who saw the interview interpreted her response as an accusation towards Salvador, especially since Young herself is managed by her ex-boyfriend's mother Pia Magalona. They had since taken to social media to blast Young for victim-blaming.

The outspoken actress had since responded to her bashers, saying, "Read the whole article before you tweet me in all caps to show how angry you are with what I said. [I don't know] what happened between them, I just answered questions. And if I thought she was lying I would say it cause I'm not scared. But then again its none if my business, right?"

She also denied saying Salvador was lying, and stressed that she will just use the attacks as a way to promote his new show, "Hiram na Anak".

Tweeting back at a fan that said that she would not waste her money watching Young, writing, "You have no right to speak to me this way. You're a speck of dust in my universe and you really don't matter to me. So bye, girl."

"I'm not going to apologize for doing my job: which is to answer questions during a press conference. My answers won't please everyone, so be it. But like you said, this issue is [long] and I'm not part of it so I won't say anything else on this in the future," she stated in another tweet.
