Laura Lehmann exposes secret marriage
24 May – Beauty queen Laura Lehmann surprised many by announcing that she has secretly married her partner Von Pessumal in a low-key ceremony.
On 23 May, the Miss World-Philippines 2017 shared a photo of her and the professional basketball player at the City Hall, and started her post with the word "Eloped."
"Quietly got married earlier this year. And now, I want to spend the rest of my life making you as happy as you make me. I love you so much [Von]. This was the best day of my life & I will elope with you any time, any place... even in a small room behind city hall I'm so, so happy to be your wife," she expressed.
As for the San Miguel guard, he wrote, "Some time ago, my now wife [Laura] and I quietly got married. We decided to keep it to ourselves for a while. The thing is, when you are with someone who shares the same Vision and Passion for success as yourself, matters such as Marriage simply become more of a legality than a drastic lifestyle change."
"Having you in my life has been nothing short of perfection. It's honestly like playing with a great point guard; if I do my job well I know my team will win. I will love you everyday and always."
Lehmann and Pessumal announced their engagement in May 2020, having been together since they were students at the Ateneo de Manila University.
