Lang Lang announces wife's pregnancy
16 Oct – After more than a year into their marriage, internationally renowned classical pianist Lang Lang recently announced that he and wife Gina Alice Redlinger will be welcoming their first child.
As reported on Singtao, the pianist shared the good news on social media on 15 October by sharing a drawing of a baby next to a grand piano that his wife drew, writing, "I am so excited to announce that Gina and I are expecting our first child. We could not be happier to welcome our new family member to the world."
Gina also shared the same photo on Instagram several hours later, writing, "Parents-To-Be! We're very blessed to have the little angel come to our family. We appreciate for all your congratulations and kind wishes."
When contacted by the media, Lang Lang stated that he is absolutely elated that they are having a child, adding that they will be happy with having either a son or a daughter.
"My wife and I could take turns playing Mozart, Bach, Chopin and other classical music as part of the baby's prenatal education," he said with a laugh.
The 38-year-old Lang Lang married his Korean-German girlfriend, who is 12 years his junior, in June last year.
