Lai Lok Yi sacrifices bad habits for son
20 Jun – TVB actor Lai Lok Yi recently admitted that he continues to try and be a better person since becoming a father to his one-year-old son, Lai Fung Yui.
The actor, who sat down for an interview recently, shared that he sacrificed a lot of his bad habits for the sake of his son, which he nicknamed "Spring Chicken".
"I quit smoking, drink lesser, and even reduced my habit of using profanity. I will never speak foul language in front of children, but sometimes it accidentally comes out when speaking to friends on the phone," he said.
Lai admitted that it is important for a father to be a role model to their kids, and that he will try his best to quit all his bad habits.
"I used to have such a bad temper. I hope to change that along with my son, like a friend who grew up with him," he said, adding that he hopes to continue be a good friend to his son in the future.
Lai also revealed that he and wife Nicole have agreed to send their son abroad to learn to be independent in the future.
"A boy will one day become a man who will have to take care of his family. I hope that he will learn to be assertive," he added.
