Lady Gaga confirms she will headline 2017 Super Bowl halftime show

After much speculation, Lady Gaga finally confirmed on her Twitter account that she is to headline this year's Super Bowl halftime show.

Referencing her latest single, "Perfect Illusion", the singer posted "It's not an illusion. The rumors are true. This year the SUPER BOWL goes GAGA!"

Lady Gaga also performed at the event last year singing the National Athem, with Beyonce, Coldplay, Bruno Mars and Mark Ronson performing at the halftime show.

It is not yet known who will be joining Lady Gaga at this year's event.

Other past halftime performers including Katy Perry, Janet Jackson with Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears, and Madonna.

The Super Bowl airs February 5, 2017, on Fox.
