Kylie Padilla calls for divorce bill following Aljur Abrenica's post

21 Oct – Kylie Padilla has not released any statement against estranged husband Aljur Abrenica, following his recent social media post calling for her to "tell the truth", but instead express her support for the Philippines to legalise divorce.

On 19 October, following Aljur's post, the actress took to Twitter with a very simple message, "#passdivorcebill."

Prior to that, Kylie posted several songs related to broken relationship, including Adele's "Easy On Me" and Billie Eilish's "Happier Than Ever" and added a Rihanna quote that read, ""Never underestimate a man's ability to make you feel guilty for his mistakes."

Kylie's tweet came not a few hours after Aljur, who has made no statement about their separation since Kylie's father Robin Padilla claimed that Aljur had cheated on his daughter, took to Facebook to break his silence.

"Don't hide and disguise your comments, statement for your self-gain. Tell them who cheated first. Tell them who wrecked our family. Tell them why I gave up on you, not on our family. The people deserve to know. I have no hate for them despite of all the attacks and accusation they have towards me. I do appreciate their reactions because I know it comes from their genuine morality and support towards our family. So, they also deserve to know the truth," he wrote.

"I am sorry for asking these questions and for breaking our agreement of not speaking to the public. When your dad (Robin) opened to the public his one-sided story, I maintained my silence because of our agreement. But now that people who supports us still throw accusations and reading your statements it breaks my heart that you can sit still despite of the truth. Tell them who cheated first. Tell them who are you with right now. Have the courage to settle this. Tell your dad the truth. If not for them, do it for our children. After so many years will you allow our children let them believe this story that you and dad left for me? At first it was fair for me, to take all the blame. Is it also fine with you guys to let the innocent be attacked with false accusations?"

It is noted that Aljur has been the subject of netizens' criticism ever since reports of their separation made headlines. The negative attention was also turned onto actress AJ Raval after she admitted to be in the process of getting to know the actor, with many accusing her of being the third party in Aljur and Kylie's marriage.

Aljur's "Nerisa" co-star Cindy Miranda has also been accused of wreaking the Aljur-Kylie marriage.

Rumours of Aljur and Kylie's split sparked back in February this year, but it was not until July that it was confirmed by Kylie's dad, actor Robin Padilla, and later Kylie herself, who stated that the two of them are working on a healthy co-parenting relationship.
