A Kuehffle? Latest invention at Ang Ku Kueh Hut combines traditional kueh with waffles

The older generations want to preserve traditions, but the younger generations want a modern future. What if I told you that it’s possible to do both at the same time? On 12 Mar, The Ang Ku Kueh Hut introduced a fusion of local and European sweets— the Kuehffle.

Combining their signature Ang Ku Kueh with the concept of a waffle, the Kuehffle offers the best parts of the two: a crispy outer layer with chewy insides.

The Ang Ku Kueh Hut was first established by the Toh siblings in 2004. They came from a family of kueh-makers, and wanted to share the joy of traditional treats with the world. They feared that traditional recipes like theirs would slowly lose authenticity as time went by. So, they decided to continue their family’s legacy by selling Ang Ku Kueh.

It had always been important for them to still evolve with the times while maintaining the original ways of Ang Ku making. Thus, the birth of the Kuehffle.

Each Kuehffle is made fresh to order and is served on a stick so that you won’t burn your fingers while sinking your teeth into one. For S$1.50, you can get a Kuehffle made from their classic Ang Ku flavours, like Green Bean, Peanut, Red Bean, and Yam. If you’re feeling more adventurous, you should try out a premium Kuehffle that uses their premium flavours like Pistachio and Hazelnut for S$3.50.

If that isn’t enough to persuade you to try a Kuehffle, The Ang Ku Kueh Hut is offering a 1-for-1 deal for a limited time only. All you have to do is show them this Instagram post and of course, be quick!
