Kris Aquino wants ex-husband to stop using son for publicity

The Queen of All Media is unhappy with James Yap's recent comment

22 Aug - "Stop using Bimby for publicity!" - that was the message that can be concluded from Kris Aquino's recent long post on social media, which came after ex-husband James Yap made a statement about not seeing his son for eight months.

As reported on Rappler, Aquino, who responded to an interview Yap gave to the media during the grand opening of the District 8 Gastropub, at G Strip of Greenhills, San Juan City on 17 August, took to Facebook to express her thoughts, saying, "There comes a point when being [quiet] just doesn't cut it anymore. I tried my best to be [proper], to maintain dignified silence for the sake of [peace] - but when the other party is again playing the sympathy card, the mother in me just has to say [enough is enough]."

"James Yap - stop using Bimb for publicity, most especially when you are opening a [bar]! That is the wrong venue to be discussing your relationship (or in this case lack of one) with your son. The proper thing to do would have been to answer, ["This isn't the correct venue to discuss my relationship with my son and I would appreciate if you could respect our privacy"]."

Aquino stated that she has rarely been asked about Yap and his personal life during her own media appearances, and that she would always make the effort not to discuss the topic in public.

"The simple truth is this and I am addressing this directly to the man who doesn't want to give our 10-year-old son [peace] - You haven't exerted effort to get to know him, much less consistently contribute financially to his needs," she added.

Aquino revealed that the last time Yap contributed to Bimby's tuition fee was three years ago, and that while money isn't the issue - "voluntarily contributing to your son's needs regardless of how successful his mother is would show him that you are a stand up guy - regardless if it is P1,000 or P5,000 a month."

"I have done my utmost to leave yesterday behind. I have forgiven you, and more importantly I have forgiven myself. My only prayer now is that we all live in harmony and mutual respect by giving each other mutual peace," she added.
