Korean premium shop I'M STARTICE opens in Singapore
Korean premium shop I’M STARTICE officially opened on Saturday (5 August) at BIGBOX Mall in Jurong East.
The global chain’s first outlet in Singapore – and third in South-east Asia – is located on the mall’s second floor and boasts a wide variety of products ranging from cosmetics to food and household wares.
In an email statement, Lee Tai Hyun, CEO of BLS Korea (the company that helped to bring in I’M STARTICE), stated that Singapore was chosen because of its strong support for the Korean wave.
There is also an option to pick-up Korean products bought online at the store that will be launched in September.
According to BIGBOX’s website, the store is an initiative by the South Korean government to promote locally made goods outside of the country. I’M STARTICE is also available in other countries such as Vietnam, Indonesia, China and US.
When Yahoo Lifestyle Singapore visited the outlet recently, we spotted many cosmetic brands that are unavailable in other Korean goods stores in Singapore, such as Mogong Dodook, Dr Young and Klayuu. These brands were previously only available via online sites such as Qoo10, Lazada and Shopee.
Beauty and food products are among the store’s bestselling items, said store manager Jenna Sim.
According to a first-time customer, who only wanted to be known as Jane, the 400 sq m store looked a lot more sophisticated than other Korean goods stores in Singapore.
