Kong Xueer breaks silence over rumour she is replaced for new drama
18 Apr - Mainland starlet Kong Xueer (also known as Snow Kong) broke her silence recently following news that she has been replaced with another actress in the upcoming drama, "Weathering the Storm" (translated title).
Following news that producer Yu Zheng has now cast Zhang Nan to play the second female lead instead of Kong, the actress took to Weibo and wrote, "New stories, new attempts, new characters, new life. It's about to begin. Looking forward to it."
Prior to Kong's post, Yu Zheng took to Weibo to deny any role change, saying that the production has never decided on Kong in the first place.
"We held an audition for the show and all the members were the best among hundreds of people. Then there was news about Kong Xueer being cast on the internet. I went to ask specifically but the production said that Kong has never been cast, and it was just YXH talking nonsense," he said.
"YXH" in this case is a term used to describe marketing accounts that would sometimes create rumours out of nothing.
