Hint for my husband: I'm lusting after this emerald KitchenAid cordless food processor for Valentine's Day

As a former pro baker, I'll take a stunning KitchenAid food processor over roses and jewelry any day.

Valentine's Day is quickly approaching, and while it's a busy time of year for florists and chocolatiers, they can keep their bouquets and boxed confections. As a former pro baker who still spends a lot of time in the kitchen, I've got something else on my list: this stunning KitchenAid Go Cordless Food Chopper. Green is my favorite color, so when I saw that this emerald hue was available exclusively at Target as part of a Hearth & Hand with Magnolia collaboration, I thought, "I need that in my kitchen." Let's hope my husband reads this and takes note!

A mini food processor that doesn't need to be plugged in and comes in the most beautiful shade of green I've ever seen? Be still my heart!

I firmly believe that when it comes to kitchen appliances, bigger isn't always better — especially if you're short on space. I've used mini food processors for years and find that they're just as powerful as their larger counterparts, easier to clean and less of a hassle to bust out of the cabinet. With a 5-cup capacity, the KitchenAid Go Cordless Food Chopper has ample space for whizzing up sauces, nut butters and purées, and its two settings allow for both coarser and finer blitzing. It's just the right size for preparing single servings or even making homemade baby food. (If you're in the market for a roomier model, this 9-cup food processor is also part of the collection.)

This mini marvel also comes with a whisking accessory for whipping cream, and the fact that it's battery-powered is a game-changer. Now I won't have to worry about finding an unoccupied outlet along my counter, and according to the brand, it can chop up to 40 onions on a full charge. My allium-sensitive eyes are crying tears of joy. (Note: Batteries are sold separately — this rechargeable 12V MAX battery is the one you want.)

While having a smaller food processor certainly makes for easier storage, this one is so gorgeous, I'd be tempted to leave it out for all to admire. My dinner guests will (quite literally) be green with envy.

KitchenAid appliances never let me down, and I know this micro machine will be no exception. (Target)

It's not just the color and design I'm sold on — the fact that this food processor has an impressive 4.9-star average rating also instills a lot of confidence in its quality.

"I was a little skeptical if a battery-powered chopper would stand up to my corded chopper," admitted a convert. "The answer is yes ... With style, convenience and power, KitchenAid does it again. I also really appreciate the 'splash guard' and how effective it is. And I’m shocked [by] how quiet it is. The battery is pretty quick to charge and easy to remove from chopper."

"Let me tell you how much I love this cordless food chopper!" exclaimed an outdoorsy reviewer. "First of all, I can meal prep literally anywhere. I take it camping a lot and I don’t have to pack knives and cutting boards. ... It is a great item to have in your camper."

"Convenient, great size, can handle a lot of tasks," wrote a final fan. "My kitchen storage space is limited, so [it's] great to store. Not heavy and easy to clean." Their one note? "[It's] pretty powerful but can’t handle thick doughs ... small amounts would be ok."

Meal prep is always more fun when you have pretty appliances doing most of the work.

And if this caught your eye, be sure to check out the rest of the KitchenAid and Hearth & Hand with Magnolia collection:

At this rate, why not swap all of your corded appliances for battery-powered ones? This nifty cordless hand mixer is equipped with seven speeds, and its Soft Start function gradually accelerates the beaters so as not to send batter flying all over the place. Plus, it uses the same battery as the food processor.

Of course, if it's larger-scale baking you're doing, you can't go wrong with a classic KitchenAid stand mixer. This hands-free workhorse does it all, from mixing up cookie dough and frosting to whipping up egg whites for meringues. The 5-quart bowl can accommodate a batch of nine dozen cookies, says the brand, and you'll get flat beater, whisk and dough hook attachments, along with a mess-minimizing pouring shield.
