Kit Thompson wins Best Actor at WorldFest-Houston

28 Apr – Kit Thompson has recently been named Best Actor at the recently concluded 54th WorldFest-Houston International Film Festival.

The news was shared by WorldFest-Houston on its official Facebook, and described Thompson's performance in the movie "Belle Douleur" as "easy to fall in love with" - earning him the Remi award for Best Actor in the Panorama Asia section of the festival.

Thompson bested the two other nominees, Japan's Hideyuki Kawahara and Yuh Kamiya ("Sin-Gone Irony").

The actor also took to Instagram to thank his Dreamscape family as well as the said festival.

However, the actor's co-star Mylene Dizon did not win Best Actress despite her nomination, and lost the title to Japan's Nao Hasegawa for "Beautiful Lure".

Helmed by producer Joji Alonso in his directorial debut, "Belle Douleur" revolves around the May-December romance between 45 year-old Liz and Josh, a 20 year-old musician.

The film previously premiered at the Cinemalaya Philippine Independent Film Festival in 2019, winning the Audience Choice Award for full-length entries.
