Kim Seri loses her Korean restaurant amid travel agency scandal

19 Dec - Amid the scandal surrounding her travel agency, social media influencer Kim Seri revealed that she has now lost her restaurant in Myeongdong, Seoul.

The eatery, called Kim Seri Restaurant, is no longer hers, she said in a series of Instagram Stories, as she shared a screenshot of a post made by a person named Ashraf Mohd Razi who asked netizens to stop attacking the restaurant.

The screenshot mentioned that the restaurant has nothing to do with Kim Seri anymore as it has already changed management. He added that they will also be changing the signboard soon.

"Allah knows who worked hard to get the restaurant from the owner. Allah knows how hard I worked to start the business. I took months to plan and decorate. And suddenly today, I was kicked out. The business world is truly cruel. Welcome to the world of the pretenders," Kim stated.

It was on 18 December that the influencer, real name Seri Azlina, finally responded to the backlash from some of her travel agency customers who accused her of committing a scam, after she failed to procure flight tickets for them to return home to Malaysia from a holiday tour package that her company organised.

The issue came in the wake of another series of criticisms from customers who claimed that the company also provided poor services to them.

In response to the demands of refunds, she stated, "I am trying my best to resolve this problem. I ask that you understand that at this time, I am unable to pay the refund amount in one lump sum. However, I would like to assure you that I will resolve this issue through a payment plan whereby all outstanding amounts will be paid before or on 1 February 2025."
