Kieda Crepe owner suffered RM800,000 loss in break-in

5 Jun - Famed entrepreneur and social media influencer Siti Nur Khalieda Yusra, known to many for her Kieda Crepe business, recently revealed that she had suffered a loss of around RM 800,000 in a break-in that occurred at her house in Kepala Batas, Penang.

The dessert-based business owner shared her experience on several of her social media platforms late last week, saying that she is still waiting for the findings of the investigation from the police 40 days after it occurred.

Speaking about the incident, Khalieda stated that it happened on 25 April between 8 to 11 pm, while her family was away.

"We arrived home at 11.40 pm. My husband, Mohd Hilmy Mohd Zaki went into the house first while my children and I were still in the van. He noticed that there was something amiss when the curtains were pulled and there was baju kurung on the sofa," she said.

She said that Hilmy and a cousin of his then went to check around the house, and found that one of the windows had been smashed.

"We suspected that the criminal had just broke in since we found shoe prints that were still wet and what smelled like bad body odour," she said.

Kieda said that upon inspection, they found that they had lost a 200-kg safe from their closet that contained all of her jewellery.

Meanwhile, the Acting Police Chief of Seberang Perai Utara District, Superintendent Zulkeflee Sulaiman confirmed the incident and said that the investigation is still ongoing and was made difficult due to lack of records on the fingerprints found at the scene.
