Khloé Kardashian Reveals She Underwent Surgery to Remove a Tumor on Her Face

Khloé Kardashian is recovering from a health scare and urging people to not skip their checkups.

In recent weeks, fans have noticed that the reality star has been wearing a small bandage on her face, and on her Instagram Story yesterday, Kardashian addressed their concerns.

"I have seen numerous stories going around about the ever evolving bandage on my face, with some of you wondering why I've been wearing one for the past few weeks," she wrote.

She then explained, "After noticing a small bump on my face and assuming it was something as minor as a zit, I decided to go get it biopsied 7 months after realizing it was not budging."

She said she ended up getting two biopsies done on it by two different doctors, because what both doctors were seeing was "incredibly rare" for someone of Kardashian's age (38). "A few days later I was told I need to have an immediate operation to remove a tumor from my face," she wrote.

She called on Dr. Garth Fischer, a surgeon and good friend of the family, to do the procedure. Luckily, she said, it went well, and she is now recovering. "So, here we are... you'll continue to see my bandages and when I'm allowed, you'll probably see a scar (and an indentation on my cheek from the tumor being removed) but until then I hope you enjoy how fabulous I'm making these bandages look," Kardashian wrote, sharing photos of her wearing the bandages on glamorous outings, including Paris Fashion Week.

The Good American co-founder pointed out that she is prone to melanomas, and previously had one removed from her back when she was 19.

In her Story posts, she thanked her doctors for their life-saving help, and gave a shoutout to her makeup artist, Ash K. Holm, for working around the bandages and making her look just as beautiful.

"PS I am ONLY sharing this story with you so I can remind everyone to get checked, and frequently," she wrote. "I'm so grateful we caught this early. I was lucky and all I have is a scar to tell a story with. Most people aren't as lucky as me and I am forever thankful and grateful."
