Marvel boss Kevin Feige is making a 'Star Wars' movie for Disney
Kevin Feige, the mastermind behind the Marvel Cinematic Universe, is developing a Star Wars movie for Disney.
According to Variety, he will be working with Lucasfilm's Kathleen Kennedy on a 'new wave of Star Wars content' once the current trilogy wraps up with J.J. Abrams' Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.
“With the close of the Skywalker Saga, Kathy is pursuing a new era in Star Wars storytelling, and knowing what a die-hard fan Kevin is, it made sense for these two extraordinary producers to work on a Star Wars film together,” said Alan Horn, the Disney studio's co-chairman and chief creative officer.
Feige was hired by Marvel for the first X-Men movie in 2000, as a producer, before becoming an executive producer on Hulk in 2003.

He’s only ever made Marvel movies since, and has overseen the MCU from Iron Man to Avengers: Endgame.
Where the new Star Wars movie will sit is not yet known, but it comes among a glut of other Star Wars-based content in the pipeline from Disney.
Game of Thrones showrunners D.B. Weiss and David Benioff are developing a new trilogy, with The Last Jedi director Rian Johnson reportedly also working on another separate trilogy.
The news comes just days after Disney CEO Bob Iger admitted that he thought Disney may have released too many new movies too soon.
Speaking to The New York Times, he said: “I just think that we might’ve put a little bit too much in the marketplace too fast.”
However, he then added: “I think the storytelling capabilities of the company are endless because of the talent we have at the company, and the talent we have at the company is better than it’s ever been, in part because of the influx of people from Fox.”

In the days when George Lucas was behind the franchise, Star Wars movies appeared much less frequently, usually with a three year gap between each, and a 16 year gap between the first three movies, and Lucas's prequel trilogy.
Once episode ten, The Rise of Skywalker, hits screens around the world, Disney will have released five Star Wars movies in five years.
Disney bought Lucasfilm in 2012, for over $4 billion dollars, and has already made its investment back at the box office.
It bought up Marvel in August, 2009, for a similar figure.
Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker arrives in the UK on December 19.
