Kevin Cheng recounts being detained by Macau police

20 Jun – Hong Kong actor Kevin Cheng found humour in his previous detention in Macau, when he recently recounted how he and director Fruit Chan ended up being taken to the Public Security Police Force department while filming "The Invincible Dragon" in 2017.

As reported on HK01, the actor, who appeared alongside co-star Annie Liu at the premiere of the said movie, shared that he was filming a chase scene with Max Zhang at the time when the director told him that he needed to run out of a certain building.

"When I entered the building, a security guard asked me what I was doing and told me I wasn't supposed to be there," he said.

Kevin stated that he thought nothing of it, until he received a call from the police station after the shoot, telling him that he is needed at the station since the movie did not apply for filming permit at the location.

"The entire crew was taken in for questioning, and since my face was caught on the CCTV, I had to be there as well," he said, adding that he was detained for ten hours.

However, Kevin stressed that the police officers were very nice towards them, and that he went home taking the experience as nothing more than a life lesson.
