Kent Cheng returns to TVB for new drama
4 Apr – Two years after his last TVB drama, "My Dangerous Mafia Retirement Plan", Kent Cheng recently returned to the station for another project, "Reversal of the Loan Shark King" (working title).
As reported on AM730, the actor, who appeared at the press conference held in TVB City recently, shared that he will be playing the role of a wicked but successful loan shark, who finds himself changing his evil ways after being struck by lightning.
When asked what attracted him back to TVB, Kent responded jokingly, "If you offer me money, I come back."
Kent then clarified that the remuneration is considerable but not impressive, and that the only reason he came back is because it's natural for him to do so as a Hong Kong actor.
"I intended to do one drama every one or two years," he added.
He is also excited about working alongside Maggie Shiu, even praising her for being a very talented actress.
The upcoming drama, which will be produced by "My Dangerous Mafia Retirement Plan" producer Leung Choi Yuen, co-stars Lai Lok Yi, Mandy Wong, Andrew Yuen, and Florence Kwok.
