Kelvin Kwan announces engagement
22 May – Cantopop's Kelvin Kwan recently announced that he is now engaged to girlfriend, Joann.
On 20 May, the singer shared the good news in celebration of the 520 Day, which serves as the annual internet Valentine's Day in China, revealing on Instagram, "Finally, she is marrying love, and I am marrying love. She said YES!! And it's forever."
Speaking to the media following the announcement, Kelvin, who already calls Joann his "wife", revealed that he popped the question during their Thailand vacation.
"The proposal had been in preparation for a while. When we travelled to Thailand in February, a Thai friend helped us arrange it at the hotel. To present a surprise to my wife, the most important thing is that my wife is happy, happy wife, happy life, I am very happy that the family has a new member."
Asked if Joann is pregnant, the singer denied it, saying that the person in his family who had a child recently was his younger sister.
"Joann is hardworking and she manages her own online store business. It makes me more motivated to work hard," he added.
