Kelly Ripa Reveals Her Go-To Breakfast Order After Teasing Mark Consuelos for Always Getting It Wrong

Kelly Ripa has a bone to pick with husband Mark Consuelos.

On Tuesday’s episode of Live with Kelly and Mark, Ripa revealed her favorite breakfast dish — and it was even a surprise to Consuelos, who "always" orders wrong for her.

“If we are going out to a restaurant for brunch and I am meeting him there and I am going to be late, and I say to him, ‘Just order me something I like,’ he always orders me eggs Benedict — the woman who doesn’t eat ham or eggs or hollandaise sauce or English muffins!” she quipped to the audience.

Consuelos was quick to clear his name. “When you say, ‘Order me something. I’ll be there in a minute,’ it’s like playing Three Card Monte. I know I’m going to lose no matter what I pick,” he said.

Apparently, Consuelos wrongly gifting his wife eggs Benedict is a recurring theme.

“You remember when I was under the delusion that you liked eggs Benedict? And for Mother’s Day one day, I made you Eggs Benedict? Why did I think that?” he said, later adding, “You eat that on vacation. You eat that on the last day, you have eggs Benedict sometimes!"

But Ripa wasn’t letting him get away with that statement. “No, I had a poached egg on toast,” she said. “There were two poached eggs and two pieces of toast — I gave you the other one because I didn’t want to be rude.

She added while turning to the audiece, “I always feel bad. I don’t know if you’re like me and you go out to a restaurant and you don’t want the chef to feel bad so you eat the food even if you don’t like it. So that was in my head. ‘Here, eat this, it’s so good, you’ll like it.’ So I put off my other egg on my other toast on Mark.”

Later in the show, viewers asked some cheeky questions, playing into the all-in-good-fun breakfast talk. One fan asked Ripa what kind of breakfast her husband should order for her.

“Thank you for asking, Lisa from Albany. He should order me a cappuccino with whole milk, followed by a chia pudding of some variety with coconut flakes and fresh berries,” she said proudly. “If that is not available — as he knows — if that is not available, he should order me a bircher muesli with some nuts and fresh fruit. If that is not available, he should order me, as he knows, an avocado toast; smashed avocado on toast. But he only orders me eggs Benedict, so…”

Another viewer shared a relatable sentiment. “Donna from New Jersey says, ‘Mark orders what he likes so because he knows you won’t eat it and he gets more without looking like he eats a large amount. My husband of 38 years does the same; He definitely knows I won’t eat it but he orders it anyway.’"

Consuelos enjoyed the playful comment. “We’re all the same,” he said with a laugh.

The married couple and co-hosts get up to lots of fun and jokes while on the air together. Ripa celebrated her 53 birthday on Oct. 2 — and Consuelos did get her birthday cake order right then. He surprised her with an oversized Fudgie the Whale cake from Carvel: "I know how much you love your famous Fudgie the Whale cake," he said.

On air, Ripa jokingly asked the Riverdale star what he would be doing if she hadn’t been born, and he said, “I’d be sad and lonely. Probably in a monastery somewhere.”

“Yes, you always wanted to be living in a monastery,” she quipped.

Consuelos didn’t stop at gushing over his wife of 27 years — he also shared a touching tribute to her on Instagram.

“Another trip around the sun for the heart and soul of our family,” he wrote in the caption as he shared a video montage of photos of Ripa and their family, including their daughter, Lola, 22, and sons Michael, 26, and Joaquin, 20. “Happy birthday sexy ♥️♥️ we love you.”

Ripa commented on the post, “Thanks babe, i love you ❤️”
