Katy Perry, Billie Eilish, and other celebs reading weird texts from their moms is exactly what you need today
Where would we be without our moms and their infinite wisdom? Even as adults, we can always count on them to answer our most baffling questions or listen to our pettiest gripes. However, they also have a knack for sending us unintentionally savage or seriously weird texts. And in celebration of Mother’s Day, celebrities including Katy Perry and Billie Eilish stopped by Jimmy Kimmel Live on May 9th to read some of the most hilarious mom texts they’ve ever received.
The messages read in the segment ranged from the well-intentioned to the downright bizarre. Perry’s mother sent her a lengthy lecture on teamwork when “cohabbing” with a partner. Stranger Things star David Harbour’s mom, meanwhile, requested that he get her “anything you can find for free” (lol). And Eilish’s mom once told her to “Go the duck to sleep.”

Clearly, celebrity moms are just as loving, goofy, and doting as our own.

Kimmel did a similar “Mom Texts” segment on his show for Mother’s Day 2018, and we’re crossing our fingers that it will become an annual tradition.
