Katy Kung doesn't mind losing Best Actress nomination

16 Dec – Although she has not been listed in the top ten list of this year's Best Actress category at the TVB Anniversary Awards, Katy Kung is still thankful that she was even considered earlier.

As reported on Mingpao, the actress, who was only shortlisted for the Most Popular TV Female Character, stated that not being nominated does not mean that she didn't do well.

"I was under a lot of pressure when I was filming "Brutally Young 2.0" and I was worried that my poor performance would affect the drama," she said. "It's really hard to win an award, so I am just happy to be nominated."

As to whether the rumour of a rift with Jeannie Chan had affected the result, Katy said that she didn't do anything wrong nor did she ever make any comments about the rumour.

"I don't know how it got so bad. Don't worry. I am not shelved by TVB. They are very sincere in negotiating with me in my contract renewal. The conditions are very good," she said.

Asked if she ever spoke to Jeannie about the rumour, Katy said that she did not deliberately do that as she thought it unnecessary.
