Kate Tsui laughs off criticism of girly costume for new drama
14 May – Hong Kong actress Kate Tsui couldn't help but laugh when asked about the reaction people had about her costume for an upcoming mainland series.
According to Mingpao, the actress, who recently shared a photo of her in full pink period drama dress at the Hengdian World Studios, shared that she has received a lot of mixed reactions from netizens over the costume selection.
"I found it strange myself, so it is normal for others to feel that way about it," she said.
Kate shared that she was styled in a much youthful look since her character in the unnamed series is aged 20.
"It really is awkward, since it is way younger than my real age. But you have to get used to it," the 39 year-old confessed.
The actress added that she has received numerous messages from fans, who wanted her to play her usual "cool girl" roles and cooperate with Raymond Lam in a Hong Kong drama again.
"I also look forward to such opportunities, but all of my work is being arranged by my manager. At this stage, I have received more jobs in the mainland. Plus, I am currently busy completing my Master's thesis in Psychology," she said.
