Kate Middleton Was Spotted Visiting Her Alma Mater

Kate Middleton made a secret return to her alma mater recently.

The Princess of Wales, who attended Marlborough College before going onto St. Andrews University, where she met Prince William, was spotted visiting the boarding school. "Catherine was here the other day," a source told The Daily Mail's Richard Eden. "It's been the talk of the school."

While a student at Marlborough, Kate played field hockey and was the captain of the team. Kate's sister Pippa Middleton also attended Marlborough, as did her brother James Middleton. Princess Eugenie, too, was a pupil at the boarding school.

It remains unclear the purpose of Kate's visit, but she is currently not doing any engagements as she's spending time with her children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis. The royal kids on half-term break from their school, Lambrook, and the Prince and Princess of Wales typically scale back their workload during school vacations.

School is definitely on the brain for the Wales family. As Prince William heads to Singapore in early November for his annual Earthshot Awards, Kate will remain in England so as to support Prince George as he takes exams.

In June, Kate, William, and George were spotted touring Eton College, where Prince William and Prince Harry attended. Prince William was the first senior royal to attend the Berkshire school, but Princess Diana's brother and father had attended, as had many of Queen Elizabeth's cousins, like Prince Edward, Duke of Kent and Prince Richard, Duke of Gloucester. If Prince George were to attend Eton, which is a boarding school for boys ages 13 through 18, he would begin in fall 2025, and would need to take an entrance exam this autumn.
