Kate Middleton stepped out earlier today to attend the Rugby League World Cup quarter-final in Wigan, Manchester, where she cheered on England as they went head-to-head with Papa New Guinea's national team.

For the sporting event, the Princess of Wales braved the rain in style wearing another stunning monochrome outfit. (Earlier this week, she stepped out in a gorgeous head-to-toe camel outfit.) Kate opted for a red coat believed to be from Alexander McQueen which she layered over a burgundy turtleneck. She teamed the look with suede-heeled boots, drop pearl earrings, and a crimson poppy pin, in honor of military troops who lost their lives in combat. The floral badge is typically worn in November for the United Kingdom's Remembrance Day (November 11).

Prior to kickoff, she met with both teams and took part in a minute of "non-silence" to mark the tournament's Movember Mental Fitness Match Day, an initiative that aims to combat the negative stigma surrounding talking about mental health.

Today's game marked the Princess's first rugby match since she took over from Prince Harry as the patron of the Rugby Football League (RFL) and the Rugby Football Union (RFU) earlier this year in February. (Harry had previously held the position since 2016, when he took over from the late Queen Elizabeth.) "I am so thrilled to become Patron of the Rugby Football League and Rugby Football Union – two fantastic organisations who are committed to harnessing the power that sport can have in bringing communities together and helping individuals flourish," Kate shared via an Instagram post on her and the Prince of Wales's official account at the time. "I look forward to working with them across all levels of the games, and to cheering England on in what promises to be an exciting year for both sports!"
