Karlie Kloss was photographed walking through the Murray Hill neighborhood of New York City on Saturday while sporting a pair of black patent leather pumps.
The model is no stranger to the traditional footwear silhouette, having been spotted in a pair of sky-high pumps on several other occasions. Most recently, Kloss was seen arriving to the Carolina Herrera Good Girl perfume party in New York City in a pair of red suede pumps. The shoes, reminiscent of the high-heel-shaped Good Girl perfume bottle, featured a leather cap-toe detail and an estimated 3-inch stiletto heel.
Working alongside her husband Joshua Kushner, Kloss has recently made headlines after the pair revealed their plan to re-launch Life magazine in a deal with Dotdash Meredith. With many predicting what the duo will do with the legacy publication, it has been rumored that the couple have plans to continue publishing the magazine in print, digitally and with video streams.
About the Shoes
Kloss’s shoes, crafted from a glossy black patent leather, featured a pointed-toe silhouette and high arch. Additionally, the pumps were elevated with an estimated 4-inch stiletto heel.
A number of celebrities have been spotted donning the classic shoe style both on and off the red carpet. In April of this year, Dua Lipa was seen heading out to dinner with boyfriend Callum Turner in New York City while wearing a pair of black Mary Jane pumps. The singer’s choice in footwear featured a pointed-toe silhouette, a thin mid-foot strap and an estimated 3-inch stiletto heel.
Patent Leather Pumps: A Designer Staple
While plenty of designers have incorporated patent leather pumps into their footwear collections throughout the years, more modern interpretations have aimed to elevate the silhouette with angular shapes, three-dimensional adornments and platform bases. From Prada to Jimmy Choo, these brands have reimagined the classic shoe style for a new consumer.
