Karen Mok saddened by Fei Yu-ching's retirement

2 Oct – Although she feels sad that Fei Yu-ching is retiring from showbiz, jazz singer Karen Mok recently stated that she will respect the Taiwanese singer's decision.

As reported on Mingpao, the singer who has performed with Fei before, said that the news of his retirement shocked her because she always knew him as someone who is fond of singing and performing.

"But I understand that there is another side to life than just focusing on your career," she said.

Karen also praised the Taiwanese singer as a gifted performer.

"I have collaborated with him before, and I really enjoyed listening to him every week. I also planned to invite him to be a guest at my concert, but I think I need to give him some space at this moment," she said, adding that she hopes to have the opportunity to sing with him again in the future.

Fei's surprising announcement came last week, in a statement he released on social media.

In it, the singer said that he has never stopped performing since his debut, but finds himself becoming lonelier on stage now that both his parents are gone.

Fei also stated that he would like to try and enjoy his life for a change.
