Kara Hui has no plans to increase her price
7 May – Celebrating her recent win at the Hong Kong Film Awards and the Asian Film Awards, Kara Hui stated that she has no plans to increase her salary to cement her status as an award-winning star.
As reported on Mingpao, the actress, who was all smiles as she appeared at the celebratory event that was also attended by her "The Defected" co-stars, stated that she has already forgotten the last time she increased her price.
"I have always leaned on the lower side. My price is always clear. I wouldn't do a project that makes me unhappy or feel forced. As long as everybody is happy, I don't mind that much. It's about mutual respect," she said.
Kara also added that she will let her management company deal with the salary, rather than determine her price on her own.
On the other hand, the actress also admitted that she has been enjoying a newfound fame following the broadcast of her new TV series, "The Defected".
"Someone recently shouted the name of my character when I was walking my dog. I was worried the person would throw something at me, but it was actually a fan. But some mainland fans really hated my character, and wanted me to die," she said with a jest.
