Kai Ko wins Best Actor at Taipei Film Awards

12 Jul – Kai Ko is elated to win Best Actor at the Taipei Film Awards, the first accolade for him from the event.

As reported on Epoch Times, Kai, who was awarded for his performance in the fantasy comedy, "Till We Meet Again", admitted that it was an unexpected win - which was why he didn't prepare his speech beforehand and stuttered on stage.

"I want to thank the judges, the cast and crew, and everybody who helped director Giddens Ko in making this movie, my lead actress Gingle Wang, my parents and my brother," he expressed.

As for Giddens Ko, who won Best Director, Kai said that winning the awards together holds great significance to the both of them.

"I hope this time, everybody can pay more attention to our film and television works," he added.

China anchors 'monster ship' in South China Sea, Philippine coast guard says
The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) said on Saturday that China's largest coastguard vessel has anchored in Manila's exclusive economic zone (EEZ) in the South China Sea, and is meant to intimidate its smaller Asian neighbour. The China coastguard's 165-meter 'monster ship' entered Manila's 200-nautical mile EEZ on July 2, spokesperson for the PCG Jay Tarriela told a news forum.
