Kai Ko injured in a drone-related accident
10 Jan – Taiwanese actor Kai Ko was badly injured in a recent accident while filming his new Netflix series, according to his rep.
As reported on Mingpao, the 31-year-old's manager shared that a drone malfunctioned and exploded in front of the actor while they were filming an action scene, causing shards to mar his face.
The manager added that Kai needed 30 stitches on his face for the injuries.
"He is currently undergoing treatment. Artistes are not superhuman. When they are concentrating on work, they have no time to react to the unexpected disasters around them. They just hope to work safely and get back on track as soon as possible."
Meanwhile, the production team of the series issued a statement saying that the accident happened back on 27 December, and that there was no drone explosion as they had made sure to meet the safety standards.
As to how the accident happened, the crew stated that the drone accidentally hit Kai in the face due to unknown reasons.
Meanwhile, the actor recently went on social media to wish everybody a Happy New Year, and added, "I hope I can go back to the way I used to be."
