Justice League Adds J.K. Simmons As Commissioner Gordon
The upcoming ‘Justice League’ movie has found its Commissioner Gordon…
According to The Hollywood Reporter, J.K. Simmons has landed the role of Gotham City’s Commissioner Gordon in the upcoming ‘Justice League’ movie.
“The Justice League has found its Commissioner Gordon,” they revealed. “Oscar winner J.K. Simmons has been cast as the Gotham City police commissioner.”

‘Justice League: Part One’ will see some of DC’s biggest superheroes coming together to form the iconic superhero group… and will star Ben Affleck as Batman, Henry Cavill as Superman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Jason Momoa as Aquaman, Ezra Miller as The Flash and Ray Fisher as Cyborg.
And now, J.K. Simmons will enter as Bruce Wayne’s pal in the Gotham PD.
Of course, this won’t be the first time Simmons has starred in a superhero movie.
His stint in the original ‘Spider-Man’ series as Daily Bugle editor J. Jonah Jameson was genius casting… but Simmons is more than capable of handling the presumably less-slapstick role of Commissioner Gordon.
And he certainly follows in some impressive footsteps.
Commissioner James Gordon has been played by numerous actors over the years, including Neil Hamilton in the 1960s ‘Batman’ TV series, Pat Hingle in Tim Burton’s ‘Batman’ films and most recently, Gary Oldman in the ‘Dark Knight’ series.
“Justice League: Part One will start shooting in mid-April. It’s slated for release on Nov 17, 2017 while Part Two will hit theaters on June 14, 2019. Warner Bros.’ next DC film will be Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, which hits theaters on March 25.”
‘Justice League: Part One’ heads to cinemas on 17 November 2017.
