Is Jung Kook's 'Seven' the Song of the Summer?IMDb - YouTube

There comes a time in every male singer's life—at least if you look at this century's biggest hits—when they make the song. It’s the career-shifting, pulsating, “Hey everyone, I just learned about the birds and the bees,” song that we know and love. In 2006, Justin Timberlake released “Sexy Back,” followed by Jesse McCartney’s ambitions “Body Language.” Years later, we got Justin Bieber’s “Lolli” (use your imagination!), then Zayn’s morning-after anthem, “Pillow Talk.” Don't forget Niall Horan’s equally horny “Slow Hands.” Now, the time has come for BTS’s Jung Kook, who just released his first sultry single.

“Seven” is Jung Kook’s latest offering—and if his yearning music video doesn’t make you sweat, then the song’s seductive lyrics will. With lines like “It’s the way that you can ride,” and “You wrap around me and give me life,” the premise is plain and simple. Jung Kook is a grown man who does grown-man things. Get with the program, people!

In just 12 hours, “Seven” has gone viral, thanks to the song’s catchy chorus—and pure shock value. The music video—which features Jung Kook vying for a woman's attention, and a surprise Latto feature—has 25 million views and counting. It opens with Jung Kook and his girlfriend fighting in a restaurant. Eventually, she storms out, which leads Jung Kook to track her down amidst a series of natural disasters. Despite countless floods, explosions, and even a brief cardiac arrest (!), he perseveres, singing about getting down “seven days a week.” How romantic!

In an interview with Vulture, Jung Kook explained the meaning behind "Seven," saying, "I want to show a more mature and grown version of myself." Mission accomplished, man.
